Registration Considerations
A bachelor’s degree and work experience in financial planning are not required to register for our education program. However, a bachelor’s degree or higher and work experience are required for CFP® certification. See more about CFP® certification here.
Registration Process
You have the flexibility to register for the full Financial Planning Program or take each course one at a time.
- Full Financial Planning Program: Ideal for those who want to progress at a steady pace and save on tuition.
- Individual Courses: Best for those who prefer to pay as they go and spread out their coursework.
- Capstone Course (Accelerated Path): For professionals who already meet most of the CFP Board’s educational requirements but need the Capstone course to register for the CFP® exam. See the list of accepted degrees and certifications for the Accelerated Path.
The courses must be completed in a sequential order, starting with Introduction to Financial Planning and culminating with the Capstone course.
Once your registration has been processed, you can begin coursework. Program participants can access course content for twenty-one months, while single course participants have access to their course for three months.
Follow these steps to enroll in the Financial Planning Program:
- Add the full program or individual course to your cart
- Create a MyCPE account
Set up your MyCPE account and provide your personal and contact information. As part of this process, you’ll be asked about any prior affiliation with Boston University to ensure accurate records and avoid duplicates. - Submit your payment
After submitting your registration form, you’ll be prompted to pay for your course online. We offer several payment options, including a two-installment, interest-free payment plan. - Access your course materials
After successful registration and payment, you’ll receive access to the course materials and platform. This includes 24/7 access to lessons, assignments, and instructor feedback.
