Carolynn Tomin, CFP®
Carolynn is the Program Director for Boston University’s Financial Planning Programs and has augmented the development of these programs for the past fourteen years. She has taught estate planning courses, online reviews, and CFP® Certification Exam courses at universities in Massachusetts and Florida, as well as for many banks and financial service companies in both states. Carolynn is co-author of an estate planning textbook, Principles of Estate Planning, published by National Underwriter. She served as a member of CFP Board’s Council on Education from 2009-2012, and was appointed Chair in 2012. Former positions include serving as Program Director for Merrimack College’s Financial Planning Program, co-founding Beacon Hill Financial Educators, a continuing education company for CFP® certificants and CPAs; and serving as a Regional Director of the Social Security Disability program in MA.
Phuong Luong, CFP®
Phuong Luong is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. She completed the Financial Planning Program at Boston University, where she was a recipient of the Robert J. Glovsky Scholarship for Financial Planning. After 10 years as a math and financial educator, she founded Just Wealth, a virtual, fee-only financial planning practice for individuals and families. Phuong is a member of the CFP Board’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council, to build pathways to attract and retain financial planners from diverse backgrounds into the financial planning profession. In addition, she is a member of the CFP Board’s Ethics Working Group, to develop curriculum standards for all board-approved ethics trainings for CFP professionals. Phuong received a B.A. from Dartmouth College, where she was a graduate of the Teacher Education Program and a recipient of the Woodrow-Wilson Rockefeller Brothers Fellowship for Aspiring Teachers of Color. She also earned a M.Ed in Special Education from Boston University.
Kenneth Dean, MST, CPA, CFP®, CFA, FRM
Ken is a Certified Public Account (CPA) who holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Ken is a Senior Wealth Advisor and Director of Tax at Peak Financial Management, Inc., Waltham, MA. Previously, he provided accounting and tax services to personal clients for 25 years, and has 10 years of experience as an international tax manager, dealing with large multinational companies such as Degussa, Toshiba, and Colgate-Palmolive. Dean earned his Master of Science in Taxation in 1995, and a State and Local Tax certification in 1999 from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Over the past 15 years, he has taught all sections of the CFP® curriculum for various financial planning programs, banks, and financial service companies. In addition to being an instructor in Boston University’s Financial Planning Program, Ken is a contributing content editor. He is a current member of the AICPA, NJSCPA, the Boston Security Analysis Society, and the CFA Institute.
Daniel J. Galli, M.Ed, CFP®, ChFC, CLU
Dan Galli is a CFP® certificant and principal of Daniel J. Galli & Associates, located in Norwell, Massachusetts. Dan began his financial services career in 1986 following 11 years as a public school teacher. He has built a practice that includes a wide range of products and advisory services, including both fee-based financial planning and commission-based activity. Today, his practice focuses on retirement planning for professionals, small business owners, teachers, and other individuals, designing qualified retirement plans, maximizing savings, and managing assets. He is a registered representative of Ameritas Investment Corp. (AIC) with FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 registrations. He holds a Masters of Education in Elementary Education Administration as well as Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. Dan has extensive experience teaching courses at colleges in Boston, and providing content development in financial planning. In conjunction with the Financial Planning Association of MA, he has coordinated a program of Personal Financial Chats for the Boston Globe website. He has served as President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors. Dan also works with PFE Advisors, LLC, of Southborough, Massachusetts, providing national educational workshops for employees of companies such as PepsiCo, FM Global, Akamai Forrester Research, NetScout, The Archdiocese of Boston, MathWorks, Northern Trust, and others.

William B. Reeve, MBA, EA, CFA, CFP®
Bill is currently teaching tax and investment planning for Boston University’s classroom program, and he edits and writes curriculum for the Financial Planning Program online. He is also teaches graduate taxation and finance classes at other Boston-area colleges. Bill previously taught tax planning and case analysis for the BU/Kaplan Review. He also taught financial planning courses for Merrimack College and Northeastern University, and at financial service firms, such as John Hancock, American Express, PNC Bank, Fidelity Investments, Merrill Lynch, and Eastern Bank. He has also taught financial planning to employees of Pepsi, Shaw’s Supermarkets, Exelon, and Northern Trust Bank. In addition to being an Enrolled Agent (EA), CFP® certificant and a CFA charter holder, Bill also has an MBA in Finance, and upon completion of his degree, was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honor society for business students. Bill is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), the CFA Institute, and the Boston Security Analysts Society (BSAS), as well as one of the founding members of the Boston Area Alumni Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma.
